Fallout Adventure Deck

This is a bit of a novelty for me as I'm writing this entry on my phone.  I use the phone for surfing all the time yet I don't use it to post. I think it's something to do with the keyboard. If I am being honest I went to the laptop to do a final edit but I am trying to embrace the technology. I am at an age when technology seems to have left some of my peers behind.

I haven't posted much lately which is beginning to wind me up.Christmas was hell. I struck me that I haven't painted any 15mm figures for well over six months and then it was terrain. I have never had to put so much in to getting it together. I am more of a substance over form kind of guy unlike my other half (as in you wanted a real tree so what's wrong with that one?).  I spent over ten hours to find and then put up a tree to my other half s satisfaction. This hasn't given me much time to myself.

So as I have a few minutes whilst doing the school run I thought I'd give it a try. The new year means I am back to running the Fallout game. As it's savage worlds I thought I would like to see a special adventure deck for the game. They are a bit Blue Peter (if you are British you will know what that means but call it Heath Robinson for you "furingers"). The cards were printed out and stuck to old cereal boxes with copydex glue. I find copydex to be really good for working with foam core as it doesn't rot the foam and dries quickly. You do get a bit of residue but this can be quickly  and easily removed.

The Geeksville site allows you to create your own adventure cards. They are not something that all Savage Worlds GMs but I think they had multiple nice touches. The pictures have to be right or they get a bit distorted.  So I used the images of the cards, images of fallout perks and my new CorelDraw skills and made these. The card backs are from another search and they are all casino cards from New Vegas. I am kind of pining for Fallout 4. Somebody got my hopes up but it turned out to be a hoax. Bethesda are still being very tight lipped so I am beginning to think it isn't on the cards right now which would be a shame.

If anyone is interested in a free copy of the deck drop me a line.

  1. Good to hear from you and keep your chin up, it might get worse, but chances are it won't.

    1. Cheers for the pep talk. I have to say that in general, not wanting to tempt too much fate, the last year has been pretty good. I might have a little less time than I used to but things are going my way and there is money in the bank.
